How to use SongFX

SongFX is a free online song effects editor: slowed + reverb, nightcore and sped up, 8D audio, bass boost, a retro sound, atmosphere and an equalizer. It all runs right in your browser, on a computer or a phone, with nothing to install and no sign-up.

Effects and sliders

Slowed + Reverb slower, with echo

A slower, deeper version of the song with the echo of a big hall: the sound popular on TikTok and YouTube.

  • Speed how much to slow the track down: ×0.85 is the classic slowed, ×0.80 is even slower. Tempo and pitch go down together, like on a record.
  • Reverb how much echo to add: 0 % is none, close to 100 % is a huge hall.

Nightcore / Sped Up faster and higher

A faster, higher version of the song: nightcore and TikTok sped up.

  • Speed how much faster: ×1.15 is the usual sped up, ×1.25–1.35 is classic nightcore. Tempo and pitch go up together.

BASSify heavy bass made for the track

Adds a deep sub-bass tuned to your track: SongFX finds where the song’s bass sits and boosts exactly that. The volume is matched, so you hear more bass, not just a louder song.

  • Profile soft, punchy or massive: how much bass to add.
  • Bass amount the sub boost in decibels, to fine-tune the profile.
  • Sub frequency where the boost is centred: lower is rumble and vibration, higher is a tight kick drum.

8D sound circles your head

The sound circles slowly around your head, like in “8D audio”. Listen on headphones: on speakers the effect is barely there.

  • One circle in how many seconds one full circle takes: 12 s is gentle, 4 s is fast.
  • Room how much space around: more makes the sound feel like it moves through a room.

Vibe mood and atmosphere

Adds atmosphere without breaking the track itself: echo, shimmer, stereo width and tone.

  • Mood dream is an airy echo with an octave-up shimmer; night is a warm, mellow sound; hall is the reflections of a live concert hall; sun is a bright, wide sound.
  • Intensity how strongly to apply the chosen mood.

Lo-fi cosy and muffled

A cosy lo-fi sound: the track a little slower and lower, the top strongly muffled, the grain of an old sampler, tape wobble, vinyl crackle and a bit of room.

  • Intensity one slider controls everything: the higher, the slower, darker and grittier. 100 % is ×0.88 and a 7-bit sampler.

EQ shape your tone

A five-band equalizer for your own tone, with presets: bass, voice, bright, soft.

  • Bands each slider raises or lowers its band by up to 12 dB: bass, warmth, voice, clarity and air. The hint under each name tells you what lives in that band.

Retro warm old tape

The sound of old tape or vinyl: softened highs, warm saturation, a slight pitch wobble, crackle and a small room.

  • Intensity one slider drives it all: light is a barely noticeable vintage touch, strong sounds like an old cassette.

Mix effects

The Mix effects switch adds other effects on top of the chosen one: for example slowed + reverb with bass and 8D, or nightcore with atmosphere.

  • + Vibe · + EQ · + BASSify · + 8D pick a variant or Off in each row. Processing order: effect → Vibe → EQ → BASSify → 8D. A tab’s own effect is not added to the mix.

Trim

Saves only the part you need, with a smooth fade in and out: handy for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

  • Trim turn the switch on and a frame appears on the waveform: drag its edges to set the start and end, or move it whole. The chosen part plays in a loop.

The volume slider on a computer changes only the listening level and does not affect the downloaded file.

FAQ

Is it free?

Yes, completely free, with no sign-up and no watermarks.

Are my tracks uploaded anywhere?

No. All processing happens right in the browser on your device. Files are never sent to our or anyone else’s server: we never see or store them.

Which formats are supported?

MP3, WAV and FLAC, plus M4A (AAC), OGG and MP4 video if your browser can open them. The result is saved in the format of your file; formats the browser cannot write are saved as MP3 320.

Why only up to 5 minutes?

Processing happens on your device and uses its memory. Five minutes covers almost any song without overloading a phone.

Why does saving take a while?

On download, the whole track goes through the effect again and is encoded to the right format. On a computer that takes a few seconds, on a phone about 10–30 seconds for a three-minute song.

Will the track get quieter or distorted?

SongFX matches the loudness of the result to the original and gently smooths the loudest peaks, so there is no distortion. With echo and in 8D the track can be a little quieter than the original: that keeps the sound clean.

How do I make slowed + reverb?

Open the Slowed + Reverb tab, pick “standard” (×0.85) and raise the reverb to 40–60 %. Listen, then press Download.

How do I make nightcore or sped up?

Open the Nightcore / Sped Up tab and pick a speed: ×1.15 is the usual TikTok sped up, ×1.25–1.35 is classic nightcore.

Do I need headphones for 8D?

Yes. In 8D the sound moves from one ear to the other; on speakers or a phone speaker you can barely hear it.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, on iPhone and Android in Safari, Chrome and other modern browsers. Saving takes longer on a phone than on a computer.

How do I save only part of a track?

Turn on Trim in the Download section, frame the part you want on the waveform and press Download. The first 20 seconds are selected by default.

Can I combine several effects?

Yes. Turn on Mix effects and add Vibe, EQ, BASSify or 8D to the chosen effect, for example slowed + reverb + bass boosted + 8D.

How can I support SongFX?
